Katsina State Appoints New KT-CARES Coordinator

 Katsina State has appointed Malam Nafiu Muhammad Musa as the new Coordinator for the Katsina Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (KT-CARES). His appointment, approved by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda PhD CON, aims to rejuvenate the program for the collective benefit of Katsina residents.

Malam Musa is a seasoned development professional with extensive experience managing projects for community organizations, NGOs, development partners, and donor agencies across Nigeria. He is renowned for his expertise in advocacy, stakeholder engagement, resource mobilization, and policy strengthening.

An alumnus of Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Musa is currently pursuing an MBA in Project Management from the National Institute of Business Management in Kerala, India. He holds prestigious affiliations, including Fellow of the Korea Institute of Rural Development and Member of both the International Association for Community Development (IACD) and the Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in Katsina State.

Musa's impressive career includes roles such as State Team Lead for Helen Keller International, Program Officer for various USAID-funded projects, and Project Coordinator for the Society for Women Development and Empowerment of Nigeria (SWODEN). His work has focused on maternal and child health, nutrition, malaria prevention, and community-driven development initiatives.

Notably, Musa has successfully implemented advocacy strategies that influenced policy changes across multiple Nigerian states. He secured investment from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) for a rice processing project in Nigeria and contributed to the extension of the Expanded Social Marketing Project in Nigeria (ESMPIN) by USAID.

With his diverse experience and numerous trainings both in Nigeria and abroad, Malam Musa is expected to bring valuable insights and strategic direction to the KT-CARES program. His expertise aligns perfectly with the program's goals of enhancing community resilience and driving economic growth.

This appointment underscores the Katsina State Government's commitment to leveraging local talent with global exposure to achieve sustainable development. It highlights the government's dedication to improving community resilience and stimulating economic growth through capable leadership.
